Allied Projects

While Le Petit Versailles is the primary production site for Allied Productions, we are also very active in collaboration with other arts non-profits, production companies, and artist collectives. A sampling of what Allied is doing and has done in the past is below, and as our archives develop further, so will the online presence of the whole of Allied’s 30-plus years of cultural production.

Pestilence: An Opus in Three Parts

A cycle of three full length musical theater works. Dance, oratory, chorus, cinema, and electronic media meld with tactile stimulation and olfactory triggers in a lyrical epic narrative, using disease as a metaphor for development, dissolution, and universal change.

Naked Eye Cinema Archival Project

Started in 1985 by artist filmmakers Leslie Lowe and Jack Waters, Naked Eye Cinema was the only venue of its era consistently showing film and video by women, queers and other miscreants.

LPV TV

In 2006, LPV TV first broadcast on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network, featuring a compilation of footage from the 1999-2005 event seasons at Le Petit Versailles community garden. In the coming year, we aim to prepare a new season of LPV TV.

The Gordon Kurtti Project

Allied Projects was able to exhibit the work of founding Allied member Gordon Stokes Kurtti at Participant Inc. in 2013. Kurtti was a seminal figure in the early East Village art scene of New York City and collaborated on many performances, films and arts in education workshops before dying of AIDS-related illnesses at the age of 26. The Gordon Kurtti Project preserves his legacy.

Sponsored Projects

Allied provides fiscal sponsorship, production support, access to Materials for the Arts, and creative consultation to a number artists, groups, and organizations.
