Continuing this project, I'm now working with my audio-diary of 9 weeks in this rural village in Mali, West Africa: A kind of close reading, accompanied by video/stills. An open question: am I "othering"?...I've found a little secret place where I can get away from everyone; talking English to myself is an important way for me to be stable here (1). Because there's no one who I can actually talk to and know that I'm being understood, or know that I'm understanding...1. This goal was not achieved." - Lydia Eccles
