OBTUSUS CUM ACUMINE: PRAYER FLAGS FOR THE GARDEN
Artist Lucia Maria Minervini crafted ancient prayer flag designs made of wax/paper/text/image/fastening components of an artist made “book.” The flags were intended to remain at the Garden until they decay and disintegrate (Hurricane Sandy may have caused havoc all over the East Coast, but these prayer flags are still hanging in there, looking new!). In this process, Lucia joins the collective and relinquishes authorship, becoming another witness to this process.
