Piera Yerkes exhibition of new sculptures and paintings
During the month of May, Piera Yerkes exhibition of sculptures and paintings.Piera Yerkes first exhibited work at the Turning to Night weekend in 2014. Her sculptures from that exhibition have been hanging out under our arbor ever since, rocking out their playful and macabre vibes. Now, Piera’s sculptures will be joined by new planter sculptures--eyes and mouths gazing into and out from the garden, with sun and water slowly coaxing tomato and nasturtium plants out into the open air. At the other side of the garden are two paintings, with a couple more joining them a little later in the month. The exhibit will be slowly tweaked and added to over the course of the month, so be sure and drop in every so often and whisper encouragement to the plants! We’ll have a Closing Reception on May 27th, with refreshments and a small set of music performances. Lineup TBD. Stay Tuned!--Le Petit Versailles events are made possible by Allied Productions, Inc., Gardeners & Friends of LPV, GreenThumb/NYC Dept. of Parks, Materials for the Arts, the NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs, and the Office of City Councilwoman Rosie Mendez.
