Lucia Maria Minervini

Lucia Maria Minervini is a visual artist, an arts administrator and literacy educator. A curious innovator by nature, she pushes and blurs the boundaries of these disciplines with creative approaches to practice and problem solving. She is honored to to assist in providing community and cultural opportunities for the Allied Productions family.
Minervini’s art work (luciamariaminervini.com), comments on identity, perception, the natural world and the role of the body in the observation and fabrication of art. In examining fractures between reality/perception, politics/poetry, private/public, inclusion/exclusion, Ms. Minervini is intrigued by the dialogue of the dichotomies between appearance and meaning.
Her mediums include drawing, etching, unique artist books, installation, video and sculpture. Her art is included in both private and public collections in the USA, Europe, India and Russia.
Administratively, Ms. Minervini has been a bookkeeper at the Hudson River Museum, a curatorial assistant for the Dia Art Foundation, a program analyst for NYS Council on the Arts and the Executive Director of the Organization of Independent Artists.
A certified Orton/Gillingham literacy instructor, she creatively implements a specific multi-sensory instructional approach to children and young adults with dyslexia and related disabilities. Minervini is a strong advocate for strategies using the arts as a catalyst for innovative instructional methods that nurture targeted developmental and educational outcomes.
