Screening of "We Came to Heal", an Interactive workshop led by lead organizers from H.O.L.L.A, reflecting on the transformational grassroots dynamic and trajectory of Healing Justice related to "Healing Justice Lineages: Dreaming at the Crossroads of Liberation, Collective Care, and Safety" by Cara Page and Erica Woodland.

Songs from Angelica M. Burl, Sarah Smith

Poetry: Eura Chun

We came to heal, what you came to do?” is a slogan made popular in 2016 by H.O.L.L.A! to engage youth, family, grassroots community, and stakeholders in vulnerable storytelling, artistic expression, cultural ceremony, interpersonal relationship building in the spirit of collective listening, knowledge sharing. H.O.L.L.A!’s Healing Justice Movement organized Afrikan Sacred Healing Justice circle base-building pedagogy to heal with other Black youth in the seven neighborhoods in NYC most targeted by the criminal punishment system. This provided H.O.L.L.A! with the collective capacity and grassroots institutional memory to develop a scientific strategy to fight against and heal from (her)historical trauma.

Come join us! Refreshments will be provided.
