Music by Leopard Zeppard and Pete Sturman
Fairy Songs
RESCHEDULED! SUNDAY, June 11th at 7pm @ LPV
Pete Sturman has been performing since the early 1990s. He was half of the New Orleans queer folk music duo Pistol Pete & Popgun Paul; they traveled all over the country from 1998-2002 playing in small bars and coffeehouses. A prolific songwriter, he is known for his unique brand of clever, funny and poignant originals. First arriving as a Katrina refugee, Pete has been in NYC since 2006 and is in the midst of an ongoing stylistic evolution. He’s been writing like crazy (15+ new songs in the last 6 months), with his recent work featuring a lot of lead guitar.
Folkpunk troubadour leopard zeppard presents a show energized by the joys and ironies of our queer life. the songs are a journey of heart and wonder, rich with wit and humor. romantic, robust and real, on an outsider trail through lovers arms and lonely moons, along mountain streams to starry deserts traveling on a Greyhound bus hurtling along highways observing a country in search of itself. welcome to the island of misgivings where everyone is looking at their phone and listening to endless songs. we're only o.k., and did not want to go to work today but singing our shame down the drain a dream of fearless love might just see the seeds of hope grow. who knows?
