AUGUST 2-17, every day @ 6 PMLe Petit Versailles Garden NY NY 346 East Houston Street between Avenues B + C subways: F – Second Avenue J/M/F – Delancey StreetRAIN OR SHINEThe french collective Dépense Défensive proposes a reflexion on the word ‘misdemeanor” along with one free book a day, from the 2nd to the 17th of August 2018.An exhibition will be based on the publication, on a daily basis, of the first 15 chapters of 15 books by 15 different authors, published between the fifth century BC and 2010 AD.An opening reception will be held everyday at 6pm, with a distribution and a reading of the first chapter, preceded or followed by installations, happenings, projections, readings, production of furniture and defensive design, creation and sale of t-shirts, contributions from artists, friends, etc. Feel free to come see us doing in-situ productions and discuss about disobedience and self-organization!BIODépense Défensive is an artistic co-operative and publishing house founded in Paris in 2017 by artist Louis Somveille and graphic designer Martin Desinde. Through alternative economic systems, they produce and diffuse editorial projects, multiples and unique pieces.
