Jim HubbardBIOS WRRQ is a multi-racial, intergenerational, cross-class, all-gender collective of artists and activists that have been collaborating since 2013, though some relationships date much farther back. An intersectional mix of queer and transgender sex workers, formerly homeless, people with disabilities, HIV+, indigenous, immigrants, first gen, survivors and accomplices, WRRQ makes art and food for visual resistance and community healing. MIX NYC Queer Experimental Film Festival is an annually occurring underground gem of NYC queer counter-culture that brings together a large and diverse community of queer people with a rich history of art and activism in celebration of film and video as mediums for queer art, craft, and self-expression, with a reputation for one-of-a-kind transformative visual and social experiences. Marguerite Paris wasborn in Brooklyn, Paris’s work has been exhibited at the Berlin Film Festival, the Museum of Modern Art, MIX: New York Lesbian and Gay Experimental Film Festival, the San Francisco Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, Hallwalls, Anthology Film Archives, and the National Film Theatre of London. Jim Hubbard has been making films since 1974. He made United in Anger: A History of ACT UP, a feature length documentary on ACT UP, the AIDS activist group, which won Best Documentary at MIX Milano and Reel Q Pittsburgh LGBT Film Festival and has played at over 150 museums, universities and film festivals worldwide.
