THE RED COUCH SALON -- June 9 @ 7 PM

LE PETIT VERSAILLES IS VIRTUALLY BEYOND WORDS TO PRESENT . . . !Red Couch Salon -- Second DraftTHE RED COUCH SALON*hosted byJUSTIN SAYREThe only place to sit at Warhol's Silver Factory was the Red Couch. Originally found on the street by Billy Name, the Red Couch became the hub for long conversation about Art and Revolution. And when the factory was gone, the Red Couch returned to the street. And who knows, it may still be there....The Red Couch Salon, curated and hosted by Justin Sayre (The Meeting*, Night of a Thousand Judy's) is a monthly reading and art series held at Le Petite Versailles, from June to September. Like the Red Couch, it is set to provide a meeting place to bring new work and discussions. The series hopes to showcase the work of emerging and established New York artists, but also become a space for experiments and deep conversations about Art in the changing landscape of New York.JUNE 9th @ 7 PMFeaturing Talents Using Both Pen and Tongue--and microphone and strategic lighting!Stephen Boyerauthor of ParasiteParasite, Stephen Boyer's debut novel is about a young 17 year old boy, Joshua Boyer, who runs away from his unaccepting Christian parents. Josh finds himself in San Francisco as a sex slave to an older man, but quickly tires of the abuse. He turns to working in the sex industry and searches for true love as he tries to figure out his new life."If you're looking for a raw and slightly surreal missive from the land of poetic hustlers (and, really, who isn't?) Parasite is your book. Josh, the protagonist, is a queer teen with tranny tendencies and a psychedelic sensibility." —Alvin Orloff"Josh is the sort of boy who experiences nearly everything through his ass, so he's not your usual sort of narrator, but if you've ever sat on anything weird, or anything splendid, this book will get to you just as it got to me." —Kevin KillianChris Wellsfounder, The Secret CityAn award-winning performer and writer for the theater. Original works include Olsen Terror, which appeared in the New York International Fringe Festival, and Liberty! which has been seen in many theatres and festivals around the U.S. He is co-writer of A Fairy Tale (Backstage Garland Award, Best Play) which originated at the Actors’ Gang in Los Angeles, where Chris was a member for many years, appearing in Batboy the Musical, Euphoria the Musical, The Imaginary Invalid and many more. He is also the founder of The Secret City, a monthly performance gathering serving artists and those who believe in the arts. Part ceremony and part salon, The Secret City provides a sanctuary in which art and performance can be interactively experienced and contemplated.Justin Sayrehost, The Meeting* of the International Order of SodomitesSayre is best known as the creator and host of The Meeting* of the International Order of Sodomites, the acclaimed comedy/variety show. The Meeting* was named one of the Top 10 nightclub shows of 2011 by Time Out New York and received the 2012 Bistro Award for “Comedy Artistry” and a 2011 MAC Award nomination for Best Male Comedy Performance. Justin is a child of Forty Fort, Pennsylvania who demonstrated a supernatural instinct for “camp” at an early age. With a voice straight out the MGM finishing school for girls, he moved to New York believing it was still 1947. He was terribly misinformed.*The entire series is dedicated to the Legacy of Poet and Superstar, Taylor Mead.--LPV Events are made possible by Allied Productions, Inc., Gardeners & Friends of LPV, Citizens for NYC, The Trust for Public Land, GreenThumb/NYC Dept. of Parks, Materials for the Arts, NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs, NYC Dept. of Sanitation, & NYC Board of Education.
