Readings from the Garden - Jacques Servin and Neil Goldberg

Wednesday, July 31, 2024 @ 7pm
at Le Petit Versailles, 247 East 2nd St.

Jacques Servin and Neil Goldberg are two long-time Lower East Side queer baby-elders who for the past thirty years have done very different sorts of things.

Neil mostly makes visual art about embodiment, sensing, and the everyday. Jacques mostly does political media work as part of the Yes Men.

Recently, Neil's and Jacques's work has taken a turn and converged: they are both, embarrassingly, writing memoirs.

Jacques's is about the delights, tribulations, and deep discoveries that come from caring for a mother who has rather advanced dementia but who never repeats herself.

Neil’s is about Animals, Anus, Art, Body, Dad, Gay, Jeff, Jeffrey, Jew, Mom, NYC, Rosie, according to the keywords in his word processing file.

Out in the garden they will bounce back and forth between their respective sentences, paragraphs, pages, and chapters for about one hour or until the audience leaves, whichever comes sooner. There will be NO intermission.

Some drinks will be provided; feel free to bring more.
